Privacy policy

SafeDrop Preorders (“SafeDrop”, “the app”) is a Shopify app for scheduling pre-order and Coming Soon product launches. This policy explains what the app stores when a merchant installs it, why, and when it is deleted.
Who we are
SafeDrop is developed and operated by Wakeserv. For any privacy question or request, email support@wakeserv.com.
Data we collect
SafeDrop stores only what it needs to run your launches. It does not store names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses of your customers or your staff.
- Store access: your shop’s myshopify.com domain, the access token Shopify issues at install and the permissions it grants.
- Campaigns: the product and variant IDs you schedule, campaign type, launch time, button text, status and the last error, if any.
- Sales channel snapshots: for each product the app hides from other sales channels, which channels it was on and its original publish dates, so it can be put back exactly at launch.
- Bulk CSV uploads: the file name and the rows you upload (product handles, SKUs, campaign types and launch dates), with any row errors.
- Settings and plan: your order tagging preferences, whether channel locks are paused, and your current SafeDrop plan and trial end date.
- Background jobs: scheduled work such as launches and storefront updates, referring to campaigns and products by ID.
- Server logs: operational logs that may contain your shop domain and Shopify IDs (products, orders, and customer IDs contained in privacy requests Shopify sends us), never names or contact details.
Order data
If order tagging is on, Shopify notifies SafeDrop of each new order. SafeDrop reads only the order ID, the time it was placed and, for each line item, its product and variant IDs and whether it ships. It decides whether the order contains pre-order items, and adds tags to the order in your Shopify admin. It keeps that information only in the tagging job, deleted 7 days after the job finishes. It never reads or stores customer names, emails, addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
Data we write to your store
To run your launches, SafeDrop changes your store through Shopify’s API:
- app-owned metafields on scheduled products and on your shop, holding launch times and labels for the storefront blocks;
- the sales channels Coming Soon products are published to, restored at launch;
- a checkout validation that blocks Coming Soon items until launch;
- tags on orders that contain pre-order items.
Your storefront and your customers
SafeDrop’s storefront blocks read the metafields above directly from your theme. Your customers’ browsers never contact SafeDrop’s servers, and the app sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, and collects nothing from shoppers.
Retention and deletion
- While the app is installed, data is kept for as long as it is needed to run your campaigns.
- When you uninstall, SafeDrop deletes your access token and all background jobs at once. Campaigns, channel snapshots, settings and uploads are kept briefly so that reinstalling can still restore any product hidden from your sales channels.
- About 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks SafeDrop to erase your shop’s data, and every remaining record for your shop is permanently deleted.
Sharing and processors
SafeDrop does not sell, rent or share your data. It runs on a server operated by its developer; data leaves that server only in calls to Shopify’s own APIs, including Shopify’s Partner API to check your plan. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify.
Security
All traffic between Shopify, your browser and SafeDrop is encrypted with TLS. Requests from Shopify are verified by signature, and the admin app accepts only Shopify-issued session tokens. The database is not reachable from the internet and only the developer can access it.
Your rights and requests
You can ask to see or delete the data SafeDrop holds about your shop at any time by emailing support@wakeserv.com. SafeDrop holds no personal information about your customers; if a customer makes a privacy request to you, Shopify forwards it to the app and SafeDrop confirms there is nothing to return or erase.
